what are the rewards from pvp - why do it?

Seriously - what are the rewards?

It costs more to pvp than you can ever hope to gain.

Superior pots are 40-50k ea, AP pots cost more ap than you would ever gain during the fight, you get no drops or other reward from winning, and you lose all that time having to get back to what you were doing when you lose.

So seriously, why do you do it? Does it give you some sense of satisfaction to 3 shot someone who doesn't even target you during the fight? Is beating up people just questing some ritual that i haven't found the glory in? Contrary to what all the posts on the forums say, continually getting beat up trying to do simple stuff does not make most people strive to get better (it may for one or two) but it makes the majority go somewhere else.

People say that sarpan and tia killed pvp - there are areas in tia that are pvp all the time, but guess what - nobody goes there. Shouldn't that be a clue -- if everyone wanted pvp so bad, wouldn't those areas be crowded instead of deserted?

Seriously, the couple times i have tried to pvp, if I even come close to winning, the opponent runs and hides behind the elite mobs or runs to a bodyguard mob that can one-shot me, so my skill doesn't matter. And dredge - how many of you train in dredge because you can't win ... so you let the mobs win for you and then brag about how good you were.

It seems that the only purpose for open world pvp it to make people get so frustrated that they quit the game.

Now i know that there are those of you that value your one on one competition and that's good if you are fighting someone who wants to fight, but what about the rest of us?

I abhor pvp because in order to win, you have to hit first and force someone to not do what they were intent on doing. That sounds like bullying to me. I pvp during sieges, because - well - it's a siege and everyone is there because they want to pvp. But i don't open world pvp (i will, however, pvp in a group if they get attacked because i won't just abandon someone) because there are more and better things to do that run around spending money to beat up on people.

And for all of you that say it's a pvpve game, how would like to have to run (and win) infernal IO before you were allowed to pvp - every time? That's what it's like for us non-pvp people every time we try to do anything, we get a mob of geared pvp-pros who decide that we shouldn't be able to pve because they want to pvp.

I don't make you pve - and you all say that pve is 'bad' - but all of you use pots, enchant stones, mana stones -- all things you get from pve. And for all of you that say PVP is most important, remove all your manastones, don't ever use a pot, and only enchant your gear with stones you got from d/e AP gear .... And before everyone says i'm an EB queen, i got 95% of all my GP at siege. I think i have run eb 4 times. Here I agree with most of the pvp crowd - glory points should come from pvp things, after all they determine your rank and help with your abilities during sieges (eventually).

Thank you for reading, i expect lots of flames .... but just maybe someone can explain what's so thrilling about spending money to beat up on people that don't want to fight.

Fire Gleeful Ladder replied to xform and flight time

Greetings, Daeva, We understand your frustration and appreciate you reaching out to the community for help. Not receiving a verification email is a common issue that many players have encountered across various games. We’ve checked the forums and have a few potential fixes you can try. Hopefully, one of these will help you get into the game!

Possible Fixes for Verification Email Issue

Check Your Email Folders: This may seem obvious, but it's the most common solution. Please check your spam, junk, and other filtered folders. Sometimes, a legitimate email can be mistakenly flagged and sent there. Add Aion to Your Whitelist: To prevent future emails from being blocked, add the official Aion email address (often something like `noreply@aiononline.com` or an equivalent from NCSoft/Gameforge) to your email account's contact list or whitelist. This tells your email provider that you trust the sender. Try a Different Email Provider: Some email providers, particularly those like Hotmail, Outlook, or Live, are known to be overly aggressive with their spam filters. If you used one of these, consider creating a new account with a different provider, such as Gmail, and try the registration process again. Many players report better success with services like Gmail. Wait for the Email: Depending on server load and other factors, there can sometimes be a significant delay in receiving the verification email. In some cases, it may take several hours or even a full day to arrive. If you've just created your account, we recommend waiting a while longer before assuming it's a bug. Contact Aion Support Directly: If none of the above steps work, the best course of action is to contact the official Aion support team. They have the tools to manually verify your account or provide a direct solution. You can typically find a link to their support portal on the official game website. They will likely ask for your account name and the email address you used. We hope this information helps, and we look forward to seeing you in Atreia soon! Feel free to update us if you find a solution that works for you, as it may help other players with the same problem. Best regards, The Forum Moderator Team
